About Me
Your Esti, EmMy love for skincare began at a young age. I remember circling the at home spa kit in the Christmas catalog that came to our house year after year (I never got it, lol). In 5th grade I read a magazine about at home face mask recipes and quickly added all the ingredients to my moms grocery list. In middle school I started to develop mild acne, and by the time I reached high school it had developed into inflamed cystic acne. I hated the feeling of not being in control of my skin. I was tired of spending time and money hoping to find a magic potion. I felt lost trying to navigate myth from fact when it came to my skin health. I even put tooth paste on my skin at one point… please don’t do this. I eventually went on accutane, with little information about this drug. It did clear my skin, but temporarily. Eventually my acne came back because at the end of the day I was not educated on root causes of my acne or why I should or shouldn’t use certain products. So when I discovered esthetics as a career I knew this would be key to helping not only my skin but to helping others as well. By the end of the first week I knew esthetics was my true passion. I LOVE learning about skin anatomy, ingredients, nutrition and well, all things skin. I pride myself on being a life long learner to continuously grow as an esthetician as well as an educator. I never want my clients to feel lost the way I did, that is why I believe education for both myself and my client is extremely important. On my journey to clearing my skin I discovered how to build a habit, which completely changed my life. The habit of skincare started with products, then turned into mindful eating to avoid acne triggers and to support skin health. Then it turned into daily movement to help my skin health AND overall health. From there I looked at my sleep and stress, and built healthy practices to manage both. Now I have built a lifestyle and mindset that I am truly proud of, which all stemmed from the simple habit of taking care of my skin.
